H1N1/SEASONAL FLU: Infection Prevention Recommendations

Genreal Guidelines for Patient Management:

  • Place patient in private room
  • Place patient on Contact and Droplet Precautions which consists of gloves, gown and mask with face shield (see grid below).
  • Discontinue isolation after five days or for the duration of illness in immunocompromised persons (these persons can shed virus for up to several weeks)
