Breast specialists on the nursing staff offer one-on-one breast self-exam education and clinical breast examinations. The Higgins general number is 770.824.2292 Scheduling AppointmentsPhysician orders are not needed for a screening mammogram. Call 770.836.9271 in Carrollton and Bremen or 770.456.3400 in Villa Rica to schedule an appointment. When you talk to an office representative, be sure to have your calendar and your insurance information handy. You may also want to note your primary physician’s name and phone number as well as the location of any records such as previous mammograms. Initial appointments, which include testing and counseling with physicians and other staff members, often take several hours. If you have had a mammogram, please be sure to bring it with you or have it sent to us prior to your appointment. If you have not had a mammogram, plan to have one at your first appointment. Mammograms are non-invasive X-rays of the breasts. Preparation for this test is easy – simply wash your breasts and underarms the morning of your exam. Please do not use deodorant, powder or perfume. Be sure to tell the X-ray technician if you are pregnant; have breast implants, scars or moles; have a previous history of biopsies; or if you are breastfeeding.
